Among those aged 65 years and over, people with a European or Other ethnicity made up 91 percent, Māori 5 percent, Asian peoples 4 percent, Pacific peoples 2 percent and people of other ethnicities 0.2 percent. The 18–24 years age group, which includes people who come to New Zealand to study, had the greatest ethnic diversity, with only 67 percent of European or Other ethnicity as reported by 2010 Social Report Study.
